adidas & Ajax Launch Limited Edition Cycling Collection

Inspired by the black, red and white of Amsterdam’s iconic flag, adidas and Ajax have announced the launch of a limited-edition cycling collection.

Football and cycling don’t crossover as much as they should in our opinion. We’re not talking about some radical new form of polo, but in shared appreciation for each discipline. West Ham received a classy collection courtesy of cycle clothing producers Milltag back in 2021, but beyond that the offerings aren’t really taken all that seriously, with most simply pasting a club crest on a cycling jersey and calling it job done. Well now Ajax break that mould, and it’s thanks to the help of technical sponsors adidas, who are on board to produce a limited-edition cycling collection for the Dutch side.

Cycling is the most popular mode of transportation in Amsterdam, with the majority of its residents commuting by bike and road cycling a popular pastime. This new collection is a playful nod to the deeply rooted Dutch cycling culture, with design inspired by the black, red, and white of Amsterdam’s iconic flag and featuring reflective elements for safety.

The collection features a range of cycling essentials, including male and female jerseys, bib shorts with dual-density padding, track top and pant, t-shirt with graphic print and special edition of the popular Velosamba. Each item is thoughtfully designed to blend style with functionality, catering to both road and commuting cycling enthusiasts. The special edition of the Velosamba is designed for city riding, commuting and indoor cycling. The shoes feature the adidas three stripes in red and white, have two-bolt cleat compatibility and reflective elements for low-light visibility. The Velosambas have a full-length reinforced midsole for efficient pedaling that still flexes enough for comfortable walking.
